Health Violations

Each center listed below has been cited for public health code violations in the last  ten years. These documents are public, and were found and published by Check My Clinic. Though the number and seriousness of the violations vary, each was documented by its state health department and the information regarding the infraction is readily available.

Do you want to protect your local community members from facilities cited for underperforming or neglecting basic standards of medical care and state regulations? Our blog post, Resources to Let Them Know, drafted by Pam Whitehead (Project Coordinator for Check My Clinic), describes some ways to raise awareness and get this information to at-risk women and patients.

The 11 states where no health inspections happen are flagged below. These facilities may pose risks or not, but the lack of oversight may make potential patients nervous.

Because about one third of Planned Parenthood centers refer for abortion but don’t perform them, and Check My Clinic only researches abortion facilities, we’ve listed two percentages after the name of the state: The first refers to the state’s PP locations with health code violations, and the second to those that perform abortions, since these were were the only ones checked. Though referral centers may have violations, we don’t have those records yet.

Current count = 80 in 24 states / 13 states have no inspections (11 have PP centers).
