Temporarily & Permanently Closed PP Centers

This page was originally set up for the onslaught of temporary closings during the Covid crisis; there are far fewer temporarily closed now and far more permanently closed. We’ve moved information on the Covid-19 crisis to our page on the Impact of Covid-19.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-life America has a list of 2025 closures which has an informative paragraph about each center. They primarily use news sources, whereas our list below is based on the official Planned Parenthood website, which maintains a page for each center. That page disappears when the center closes, and has the best available update as to whether it’s temporarily closed. We list temporarily closed locations separately from permanently closed ones. Also, the SBA list counts centers, and we count  locations. PP frequently counts two centers at the same location, so if one of them closes but the other doesn’t, the location is counted as remaining open and therefore isn’t listed below.

See our state-matching page for specific centers matched up with their nearest Community Health Centers, and our home page.

We only cover the centers that are physical buildings here; Telehealth – “Virtual Centers” – will be treated separately and will probably get more attention as a growing trend.

Constantly Updated Lists

U.S. Locations Closed Until Further Notice

If these physical (not telehealth) centers close permanently, they’re moved to the list of permanent closures at the bottom. If they re-open, they’re removed from this page.

Since we receive no notifications of changes from PP and have to find them by constantly checking publicly available web pages on the PP site, figures are not up to the minute.

Listed as temporarily closed:

Current count = 7

See the bottom of our Kinds of Facilities page for centers only open 1 or 2 days a week.

Closed Permanently (Probably)

Current count of permanently closed locations since March 12, 2020 = 115.

Count  for 2025 = 51

Current count starting January 1, 2026 = 1

Centers are counted as permanently closed if they disappear from PP’s list, if the listing’s link forwards to something other than a web page for that center, or if the center’s page says they’ve shifted to Telehealth only (which sends people elsewhere.)

Any centers that re-appear on PP’s listings and post their hours will be removed below. Any that re-appear with a note that they’re closed until further notice will be moved up to the above temporary list.

A few new centers opened during these times and aren’t listed, so the net loss is not quite as high as indicated.

March 12, 2020 (Covid Crisis) to January 19, 2021

There were quite a few that closed temporarily during this time and then re-opened; see our page on the Impact of Covid-19 for more details.

Note: lists of closures in 2025 often include the smaller of the two Memphis centers as a 2025 closure, but as seen at the top of this page, PP is listing it only as temporarily closed. We know since March 2020, when we started keeping track, that the temporarily closed are more likely to permanently close than others, but it’s also quite common that they instead re-open. This is why they’re tracked separately here.

Starting January 1, 2026
